Facial-Waxing

Facial Waxing

Facial waxing is an excellent method for removing unwanted hair. It can be used on the upper lip, chin, cheeks, forehead and eyebrows. This method is quick and easy to administer by your esthetician at home.

Eyebrows

  • Before you get waxed:
  • Cleanse and exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells. This allows the hair to grow out more easily, which makes it easier for the wax to remove it.
  • Moisturize after cleansing to keep your skin smooth and supple, which can help with the removal of facial hair.
  • During your waxing session:
  • Shave any areas that need shaving (e.g., sideburns). After shaving these areas, apply a numbing cream around them so they don’t feel sensitive when you’re being waxed later on in your session. The numbing cream should be applied at least 15 minutes before getting started so it has time to take effect before beginning. If you have particularly sensitive facial skin, consider applying a cooling mask beforehand as well—this will ensure that your face isn’t too red afterwards!

Upper lip

Waxing your upper lip is a quick, easy and affordable way to remove unwanted hair. It can be done at home or in a salon, depending on your preference. If you choose to have the treatment professionally performed at a salon, here’s how it works:

  • Your upper lip will be cleansed with an antiseptic solution.
  • A strip of wax is applied lightly to the area where hair removal is desired.
  • The strip is quickly removed in opposite direction of growth (i.e., upward).

Cheek

You might find that your cheeks are the most sensitive part of your face, and the area in which you get ingrown hairs. Cheeks are also the most painful to wax, as well as being pricier than other areas because of their close proximity to facial expressions such as smiling.

Chin

  • Make sure to use a wax with a low melting point. The last thing you want is for your chin to start feeling cold while the wax is still hardening, so make sure it’s not too hot before applying it.
  • Apply the wax in small amounts and wait until it cools before removing any excess.
  • Wait until the hair has been completely removed before applying ointment or moisturizer to avoid irritation from rubbing against irritated skin.

Forehead

The forehead is a great place to start when you’re getting started with waxing. It’s one of the easier areas to wax because it’s not as sensitive as other areas such as the upper lip or brows.

Here’s what you can expect if you’re trying to figure out how to wax your forehead at home:

  • The hair on the forehead grows in several different directions, so make sure that you’ve got everything covered by going over it multiple times. If there are any spots that haven’t been covered well enough, they’ll be visible after the wax has dried (and possibly even painful).
  • After applying warm cloth strips and waiting for them to cool down (this usually takes about 10 minutes), pull them off quickly in a downward motion from corner-to-corner. Gently rub away any residue left behind with another cloth strip or cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol and apply additional moisturizer if desired.*

Facial waxing results in smoother skin for a longer period of time

Facial waxing is a method of hair removal that removes the hair from the root. This is accomplished by applying wax to the skin and then removing it in one quick motion, pulling out the hair at its root. If you’re interested in facial waxing, here are some advantages of this method over shaving:

  • It will last longer than shaving
  • It’s less painful (depending on your pain tolerance)
  • There are fewer ingrown hairs with facial waxing because it removes all of the hair follicles with each pass
